This September I am hoping to start some Wednesday evening Cajon, Adult Learner Classes at the Greetland Academy.
In these classes I will be covering the basic techniques to get started on the Cajon and explaining the origins of the Instrument and it’s diversity in modern contemporary music.
I started playing Cajon about 10 years ago when the acoustic music scene became more popular. I was coming across gigging situations where the bands I was playing with didn’t require a full drum kit to back them up but still wanted a live percussionist.
The Cajon works great in smaller venues and with quieter musical styles and also adds an extra interest to the live performance.
I can be seen here Good Moves – Remains playing my Cajon acompanying an acoustic project I was involved with.
